At least Ernie waited until the final holes to wilt. Phil had a heck of a shoot out but, alas....I like Tiger a lot better than I like the media coverage of him. He is way beyond "cottage industry" status. Last edited by alcyone on February 3rd at 4:08 PM. |

It IS a strange and awesome time in which to live. We're witnessing (one of) the greatest players in the 500+ year history of the game...for which future generations will envy us. BUT, how tough it is to see the game so dominated by one man, with the rest of these quality players having to play second fiddle all the time! At least other eras had great triumvirates: Jones-Hagen-Sarazen, Snead-Hogan-Nelson, Palmer-Player-Nicklaus, Irwin-Watson-Strange (or pick your 80's mashup, there were plenty). But now? Woods-Woods-Woods. The other guys are great, but the gap seems insurmountable...
