Do you think Ernie knows

Does Ernie Els know more people are rooting for him tomorrow than ever before, does he know if he wins  he will be welcome at any major for the rest of Tigers career. Does he know more people will watch the Dubai classic than the FBR open . Those of us on the edge of our couch tomorrow dont hate Tiger we know he is great but we love golf  on sunday we dont want to know on to saturday night who will win  sunday. We are sick of Phil winning behind Tigers back or other no names and also rans wilting the last day even before they tee off .Come on Ernie do you know there is no pressure if Tiger wins you can still be  the best of the rest but you could be our Arnold Palmer we want to join your army . we dont hate Tiger we just want someone to love.

At least Ernie waited until the final holes to wilt. Phil had a heck of a shoot out but, alas....

I like Tiger a lot better than I like the media coverage of him. He is way beyond "cottage industry" status.

It IS a strange and awesome time in which to live. We're witnessing (one of) the greatest players in the 500+ year history of the game...for which future generations will envy us. BUT, how tough it is to see the game so dominated by one man, with the rest of these quality players having to play second fiddle all the time! At least other eras had great triumvirates: Jones-Hagen-Sarazen, Snead-Hogan-Nelson, Palmer-Player-Nicklaus, Irwin-Watson-Strange (or pick your 80's mashup, there were plenty). But now? Woods-Woods-Woods. The other guys are great, but the gap seems insurmountable...
