With your little .com link at the bottom of two out of three blog posts, and another in the equipment forum, you are starting to smell like a spammer.

your not very funny your comments about woman are not real cool either might you not be happier on e-bay . oh by the the way the biggest load of crap the golf industry is feeding us is advice from has beens and lead tape. club makers spend hundreds of thousands designing clubs and balancing them for every swing to think sticking lead tape on something will improve it is well optimistic at best

For those of us who made the transformation from persimmon to steel, I think we can better understand what Johnny Miller meant. Back when he was on top of leaderboards, persimmon was it, and I have to admit I kind of miss those days. The woods were heavier, and required more rhythym in the swing. Golf was more about shotmaking than rip-find-repeat. I used to have a nice fade with a persimmon driver -- now I can't fade a ball for nothing. I can cut and slice the crap out of it, but hit that nice subtle fade with today's titanium? Ain't happening. As for the non-conforming drivers, I don't think it makes a lick of difference. I wouldn't knowingly play with something non-comforming, but it's no big deal if someone else chooses to do so outside of paid competition. If it helps a player to enjoy the game more, then I say, "Swing away!" |

I also enjoy hitting with older clubs, especially when driving. I get the clubs at thrift stores and yard sales. I really prefer "Thwack" to "Ting." I have a Spaulding one-wood, all dark and shiny, weighs a ton, and I can hit it straight but not long. But then again, I'm too new to golf to hit very far with any club, so no difference there. Palmer could do 300 yards with it.
