There are only a few things that I can't tolerate during a round of golf.  Not having fun and a group in front that is super HUGE!  I understand 5 in a group, as long as the pace of play is decent, but 9!!!!  That is untolerable!  I understand that the course I was playing in really in bad shape, the greens were garbage, and the focus of the inept grounds crew and mangement are on a part of the course that needs it, but when you pay a little extra attention to one place, doesn't give you right or excuse not to take care of the rest of the course.  With that being said, ths course is the course that locals go to for a good cheap time of golf. For many years this course is the hang out, and "hackers" course, and I take my daughter there to learn how to hit the ball.  I just think that the management of the course should enforce some sort of normal golfing behavior.  This group wasn't sent out like that, but they converged and played the last few holes together, which really slowed down the pace of play.  I did take some pictures of this mega-group.  Please excuse the low quality of these picture, they were take on my cell, under zoom.

Well, again the search to get better continues.  I played a quick twlight 9 holes at my home course here in Hawaii. My tee shots were decent, only shanked one.  Hit five of nine fairways (two par threes) which is good, thatreally means I only missed two fairways!  I seem to be putting better, since I have been stroking more smoothly.  What has been killing me is my approach shots.  Aiming, My distances have been pretty good, but, it is where the ball is landing.  I guess I need to hit the driving range, and think about these shots more.  So, in a nut shell, these shots are what is keeping my scores away from where they could be.  Saturday, I have planned a mini challenge with a group of friends, there will a little bit of money thrown into the mix.  Well, I should just slow down, not second guess myself and aim from within my gut.  We will see what happens on Saturday...Hopefully I play as good as I know I can!

Once again, I had a little problem being consistent during my last round at Makaha Valley Golf Course here on Oahu.  I had played about 4 holes on the front and 4 holes on the back well, and for par.  I had then on the rest of the course I failed, and the course beat me, or maybe I beat myself.  I started out with a nasty hook, and then I stopped and thought about how I was addressing the ball.  I wasn't placing the ball properly at least for my swing in my stance.  My back swing too felt all wrong.  Once I slowed myself down, took a breath; I swung a little better, hit the ball a little better, and played a little better.  Then all of a sudden I lost it!  It might have been my friend calling me, maybe it was my trying to get through the round a little better, or it could have been the weather, it was starting to get ugly out and I was only on the 4th hole of the back 9.  I'm willing to bet it was a combination of all of it.  Stupid life getting in the way of a possible decent round of golf.  I think I'll put my phone on vibrate this time.  I normally do that, but I didn't this time for whatever reason.  I really just need to get back to my game and not let these little things get in my head and disrupt my head and my game.

Since I started playing this game, I've been searching for a way to be consistent.  This is the most frustrating thing about this game.  I have a bad habit of trying to play the same "game" as the people I play with.  For example, I know that I hit my 8 iron about 150 yards, when I started doing that I don't know, but, yesterday when I played at Olomana GC, here on Oahu, and I would ask what my partners were hitting, and they would say, 6 iron or 5 iron and leave it just short or right on.  It then would make me think that I was wrong in club selection and I would go with a different club, and I would be all kinds of long.  DAMN! Why can't I not second guess myself.
