I play Adams Tight lies 3 wood, and adams pro forged irons and hybrids, and they are great, so I had to try out the new XTD drivers, I went to the local range with a launch monitor and had a go at the new ones.

I found that for me the best option was a 9.5 degree XTD pro, according to the monitor.

Well I ordered the pro and WOW it is not a golf club it is a cannon, no it is to accurate for that must be a fairway seeking missle,  LOL

I learned one thing I had been playing with the wrong shaft and loft for years, well worth the investment to learn more about my game and me.

I hit the ball right where I aimed it every drive on the first round last friday and hit it further than I ever have on my home course on almost every hole.

I am not saying a adams XTD is for everybody, but finding what works for me is the best thing I have done for my game in a while. It just fits well and goes where it is told., ask Pastor Mark he witnessed the test

Had a little medical problem this past week has had me down pretty bad, stayed at the hospital for 2 days.

Well another tournament is in the books and I am still being competive looks like,

I finished 6th in my flight this week at Red Fox Country club.

I am currently 15th in the points race in the Elite Golf Tour, after two events.

I have been hitting too many balls in practice sometimes I have flared up my carpal tunnel again or something, tendons to left elbow is tight and painful.

Trying an experiment with winn tour wrap w7 soft oversize grips on one club to test, the release feels better, and the forearm is not as tight, did a 2 bucket test with a sand iron, varifying distance and targets on the range, it felt good, think I may change them all early this week.

Three more weeks I turn 50, and I will move to the senior tees, that I expect to take alot of pressure off of my game, I think I have been pressing trying to hit with the young guys, gripping to tight at the course mainly, my practice range swing is great, wish I could take it to the course,  any ideas?

Hi, the game has gotten very stable and I have joined the Elite Golf Tour. www.elitegolftour.com

I changed over to Adams Idea pro irons, and also back to my old ram 70's mallet putter, it just feels good and gets it done, and gets me a lot of strange looks and comments, mostly after I drain a long one.

I have been practicing alot in the last six months, ckeck out my pics and see  what I have accomplished so far. 6 aces at the local practice range and lowering my handicap by many strokes, so Life is good, but we always know it can get better.

I finished 7th in my flight last tournament at willow creek in a terrible wind, shot 10 over my handicap, but most others did also, I am 15th in the points race after one tournament, Tomorow We play Red Fox my home course you might say. Maybe I will have a good day.

Well the journey is rough, but the results are great, I have lots of sore muscles and tendons and everything else.
The hands have been coming along pretty good, having to take aleves to deal with the pain and tightness, recovering from a couple of carpal tunnel precedures is taking a little time and extra preparation.
The game overall is coming along fine, the short game is  really coming along, I just seem to be able to see the line on putts, visualize them very well.  Maybe due to many years doing construction and plumbing and having a very good idea for level and elevations. Hope it stays that way!!   Chipping and sand is coming along well due to much more practice and excelerating thru the ball on all shots. Yes the shots are much more accurate with a acelarating blow then a decelerating one. Everyday I pickup pointers and ideas for more productive practice and better play from this site and it has deffinately helped my return to the game.

I still do not hit it as far as I would like, but lets be real , nobody ever does!

I gave a nice kid 13 (Derrick) a lesson at the range the other day, what a pleasure to see him get it and hit the ball much better, than when he started his session..  Reminded me of coaching little league football in the past and the fulfillment it gave me to shape our youth, and see them grow and improve.

The driving range owner watched the lesson and commited on how much I seemed to enjoy it and the kid stayed focused also, that impressed him. We talked about doing free junior clinics a couple of times a month for different age groups and introduce them to golf at the proper place a range to learn.

Anyone have any old kids clubs or sets that could be cut down they want to donate,
please contact me, they will be used at the Pin Hi target range near Tryon Nc, to start youth golfers on the path to fun golf, find real talent and see them blossom, and be a part of it would be real special.

Thanks,  Spike

Hi , Just started back after 6 years off and 2 carpal tunnel surgeries. Have been to the driving range quite a few times getting me back in the groove.  Played about 8 rounds and the scores have been getting better every time out, broke 100 last week for the first time since stating back and friday shot a 86 to break 90 and meet my goals.

I hope to be back in the 70's in a few weeks, where i was when i had to stop due to medical conditions and work schedules.

I have taken on the stack and tilt swing and have had great success with it, I was using a overly strong grip and way to much grip pressure, now I have a swing I can repete and feel comfortable with. The miss hits are not near as bad or frequent, and I think that is due to keeping weight more on the front foot and not swaying in the backswing.
Still a learning process, but think it will payoff in consistancy and yardage.
