Sunday morning, @ 7:34 my foursome tee'd off at the beautiful Pennsauken Country Club. I cannot remember the last time I was this excited to play somewhere because this track has been on my list for so many years. I am a big fan of hitting on the practice range prior to starting but they didnt have a driving range so I had to go into it cold. I was even more nervous because we where playing skins from the tips and $3 par 3's. We even handicapped one player so that 3 of us were giving him a stroke on all of the par 4's and 5's. The first hole was a dog leg left that the trees could be cleared with a solid drive or you could lay up with a 5 iron. i hit my callaway ft hi-3 right over the sandtrap and left myself about 110 from the flag.. this was gonna be a great day. I parred the hole and moved on. Even from the blues the course only played out to roughly 6400 yds the course didnt allow too much use of the big dog. I missed a few drives but recovered nicely on the front 9 with a 40 and 11 putts! the back nine was a different story. When we started the greens where wet from the night before and you could be very aggresive with your approach and fly the ball to the flag. all of the sudden and believe me i had to find out the hard way when I flew my 56 to the flag and had the ball go flying off the green and down a 10 ft high burm. The course was amazing and in almost pristine condition. even though I came in with a 43 on the back I still managed to get 6 skins and 2 and half par 3's. anyone living in the pa, de, nj area should definitely give this course a look. 58 bucks with a cart and some of nicest landscaped in nj Im not surprised at all its been #1 for 14 out of the past 20 years.
