Well friends, my membership will expire soon and this will probably be my final blog entry.  I've been away most of the summer and this is my first visit back in about 5 months.

My shoulder will probably never heal back to where it was before the surgeries, even after 18 months of therapy, but you can bet I'll be out there next spring with high hopes for low scores.

Even with a highly altered swing I've managed to shoot a few rounds in the +7 to +9 range which puts me close to where I left off.  (Take an ace bandage, strap your right elbow to your rib cage, and try to play...that was my swing.)  By next summer, I hope to play without the aid of anti-inflamatories, muscle relaxers, and pain killers.

My golf cart caught fire, which made things really interesting for a little while.  Luckily it was in the parking lot and not out on the course.  Had it been on the course, I would have had to push it into a pond to put it out!!  I highly recommend a fire extinguisher as part of your equipment if you own a gas powered cart.  I eventually got the fire out and 4 weeks + $800 in repairs later had it back on the course.

The senior league was fun but I only got to play 6 rounds because I didn't get released by my surgeon to play until mid August.  I had 4 first place and 2 second place finishes in the 60~65 year age group.  My best round in the seniors was a +5 on a course I had never seen before.  My opening 9 holes that day was a +1. :-)  I bought a laser range finder which really helps on unfamiliar courses.

The fall rains have started here in the midwest so there won't be many more nice days to play but I'll try to get out when I can.  Last year, the cold weather shut down the courses here in the second week of November and no one played until late March, and those were only the hardy souls.

I learned there is a possibility that my home course will be under new management next year and they plan to put about $300,000 into it in upgrades the first year, with the possiblity of adding a back 9 holes in the next 3~5 years.  I'm looking forward to any improvements they can make because right now it is the worst course within 50 miles...but cheap.

It has been a fun year and I've chatted with some really nice people ( Blue, Ducky, Parstor Mark, Thistle, CP) here in Golflink, but it's time to move on.  If we ever meet, I hope that you play the best golf of your life, and that I beat you by 1 stroke.  LMAO
