I'd take my three iron (my longest iron) and drill that old "Bull-Dung" in the A**!

Hi Almanza_mayahoocom !
Nice mental image - Thanx !!
If my #3 hadn't started "talking" to me recently I'd not even consider it a loss of a good club. But I may have to make a trip by the flea market and see if I can find a nice rusty driving iron with a dusty dry-rotted grip.

Sounds like one arrogant SOB. Does he have a boss you could speak to? After so many rounds there, you're entitled to some leverage. As a fellow rookie, I know we should expect to have to put up with some "attitude" from the staffers and pro's, but nothing rankles me more than an elitist golf snot.

Thanks Pastor_Mark !
Arrogant ?? YES & Well Said & In No Uncertain Terms !!
(but fortunately he's only there a couple days a week and every 3rd or 4th weekend) - The rest of the staff at HRGC is GREAT ! Johnny, Larry & Linda (that is why I encourage all to call and see "If Jim's working". Even though the course isn't perfect, I like the quiet non-rushed atmosphere, and because it is so usually deserted, (except for the deer that don't rake behind themselves) It's not the zoo that some of the other local city courses are. Its very relaxed out there, Johnny, Larry and especially Linda have made HRGC feel like home to me - (& Benny Too)

You'll hate HRGC if you think every piece of grass has to be perfectally trimmed or every weed has to be irradicated as in the utopic country club setting. . . . but it is a fun course when properly managed; and has some really nice folks that I've met and enjoy playing with.

YES - Jim has a boss/manager & I have Benny Bowles cell phone number stored in my cell phone, and when I mentioned that I'm gonna give "Benny" a call, Jim & his wife each scrambled to give me their phones stating: "Benny Said To Blow The Horn" and he just left . . . .

Knowing back in August that the courses condition / & bad Golflink PR was heard loud and clear by Benny and his partners - I feel this is my best avenue

i am a bagcheck/starter at a nice little golf course in southern new jersey. many a day i have sat on the brick wall over looking # 18 when it was just about dark waiting for the only twosome left on the course. ive only worked at the golf course for six months but i would never ever think of blowing the horn or giving anyone the attitude of " i cant wait till your finished so i can get out of here". if i were to do that i would be immediately fired. i am an avid golfer and respect the game. more then half of the players that pay good money to play at my golf course plan this event well ahead of time. yes, to alot of people playing golf is still an event.i play 3 to 4 times a week , work on a golf course and still have trouble sleeping the night before i play because i cant wait to get out there. for this pro shop jackass to ruin your outing is a crime that is punishable by termination. i value each and every customer that i deal with and when i have a closing shift i know that i am not leaving until 20 minutes after dark! yes, we have some customers who are just complainers and miserable people but for the most part are good guys and girls who just want to play golf and at least match their best round. good luck in your search for justice.

Hi "jrb_III" !!!!
(AKA: "Johnny" from HRGC)
Welcome To GolfLink.Com !!

(golflink readers please take note this is the "Johnny" that was mentioned twice in my response to "Pastor Mark" Posted: Jan 28, 2008 | 9:40 PM PST)

Johnny, It was most considerate of you to join GolfLink.Com on 1/29/08 just so you could see the blog I spoke with you about and told you I posted; and thanks for posting your reply "Jan 29, 2008 | 8:08 PM PST."

(I have the option of deleting your comment but value your response.)

As you can see from the other responses the public opinion is unanimous.

Thank You for offering to print and post my blog at "Jim's" golf course. I agree, EVERYONE at HRGC needs to be informed !!

Would you also like the picture I quickly snapped of Jim "flipping me double birdies" from behind the desk at HRGC, at 9:00am (according to the clock pictured on the wall) I wonder if others are greeted in the same manner.

Incidentally, after Jim realized that HE was captured by my pocket digital camera "flashing the new Henry River Golf Course Gang Sign" The threatned to sue me if I posted the picture on the internet.

Let's see . . . #1) Public Location and #2) Jim "posed" for a picture - I'm not worried about any lawsuit, but I have much too much taste to post THAT on this website. Besides, at this point, I think the GolfLink readers already "get the picture".

If you would like a glossy 8x10 to hang along with my blog you indicated you were posting at HRGC - just let me know.
I'd be GLAD to drop it off on my way to "River Oaks" tomorrow.

lynn- at this point i would find a new home course. it appears to this writer that the damage that has been done by this one roque employee can not be fixed.when you go to the club the last thing you want is a #@!$ing match..this guy johnny that posted above me, is he the pro or g.m. or something? if so it appears that you are no longer welcome and its probably best for you never to return.i do know that if i ever get down that way i will never play that course..the employees seem petty and have no customer service skills..i would like to invite you and your group up to new jersey to play my course white oaks country club. i can guarantee a good outing and quality customer service. move on buddy and never look back...what do you think thistle?

You're right, Sarg. Lynn, it's the same for our Lochmere Golf Club, over here in Cary. Down-to-earth folks who are absolute professionals. The crew works overtime keeping the course in good shape, despite challenges of soil and drainage. Our GM, Tom Prots, treats everyone with respect, and the girls behind the grill counter are winsome and sweet. It all adds up to a great day out playing golf. I, for one, would never, ever return to a club where I was badly treated. Life dishes out too much punishment already -- why should one subject oneself to more, and pay money for it besides? "JRB III" should remember who butters his toast.

Lynn,

I'm sorry to hear about the way you've been treated at HRGC. I'd definitely take this up with the owners/management of the course, since any decent businessman wouldn't stand for that kind of treatment of a customer.
