Hi everyone! I was hoping someone could give me some suggestions for a good place to take golf lessons. I live in Alpharetta, Georgia. My boyfriend loves playing golf but has never had a professional lesson, so I was hoping to get him one or some for his birthday coming up in July. He typically shoots in the mid 70s. He's been talking about taking a lesson for awhile now, but I'm having a hard time finding reviews and information about lessons available in the area. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you, Sarah

I hate seeing that nobody has responded to your post.
If your boyfriend shoots in the 70s he's a pretty accomplished golfer, comparatively speaking. Most golfers have never shot a round in the 80s.
If you are getting him lessons as a surprise I would recommend that you call some private golf clubs in the area and ask them if they would consider giving lessons to a non-member. Then, and this is important, let them know that he's basically self-taught and that you'd like to find a teacher who is willing to work with his existing swing. The reason I say this is because even if your boyfriend hits a golf ball longer and straighter than the teacher, the teacher will invariably try to make him swing like he does. That will screw up both your boyfriend's swing and probably your relationship. Have you considered maybe just buying him a sweater?

You need to buy lessons for yourself thats the best present you could give him. Trust me he may go golfing with his buddies but he would much rather be playing with you. While your at it get yourself a set of cubs ,nice ones and a couple of those cute golf outfits. You cant go wrong showing him your interested in his hobby. After a couple lessons you can tell him what you think he is doing wrong on the course, wait till he hits a bad shot then tell him what you saw. He will love your impute and you too can bond more but stay on him be tough he may seem irritated at first but after the round he will thank you trust me!

great comments by both frankie c and igolfyou. i would agree with both of them, that is, if you really want to buy him lessons, call the local private clubs (or semi-private) to see if they take non-members. then buy him 3 or 4 lessons spaced out over a 6 month period so he has enough time to work on each tip from the pro. but like Igolfyou said, there is nothing better than a girlfriend who plays golf - or at least tries. sounds like your boyfriend is an accomplished golfer, but just the effort to try to play with him is a win in itself. good luck!

Ssmith, if you want to get your boyfriend lessons then go to the PGA Tour Superstore in Kennesaw, GA. I've taken 7 lessons from there and have no complaints whatsoever. If you can, get his lesson scheduled with a guy named Micky. He's really good. The lessons there are $39.99 for 60 minutes or you can buy a six lesson package for $199.
