I joined almost a year ago and get reminders about a $50 subscription. I am lead to believe I can still post and read if I don't renew?
If that is the case why is the board so stale? I am glad of the usual input but without around 5 members there would be ZERO traffic. I have MAJOR contribution to another site but still pop in here as it was my first and original.
I really hope your $50 charge hasn't backfired (especially in the current climate). Some Forums (NOT threads) can lie idle for nearly a week! I have seen similar threads in the past to this but just wanted to raise it again. When I first joined it was great and some of the guys still have good input, but now it is baron. Even if it was great you had zero chance of $50 from me, so now .......
ps - I live in the UK so get no benefit from other parts. I only joined as it was the first (and best at the time) forum posting site for golf.
pps - I do not want to dis-hearten anyone but would like to see the boards 'buzz' again like they used too.

OK - 24 hours in and we have seen ZERO posts in ANY forum. Might keep checking back to see how long it goes .

Quick update. Checked my other site. 59 updated THREADS in the last 24 hours. No idea how many posts but will easily run into the hundreds, probably thousands. Many threads see 40 posts per day.
Where are all the moderators and (ex)regular posters?
65nlovenit, The next tiger, Thistle, Christian KT, Wheyface33. Joe Hill etc, Now we seem to rely on Pastor Mark, Blue Crush, Duckybutters and of course CP.

No offence if I have missed anybody. Relying on memory and quick scan of pages, I can remember other posts and aviators but terrible with names.

Sorry about that, John, I just got in! When we relaunched with all the new features last year a (small) handful of people were allowed to register and get the full subscription for free for one year. We did not gather any credit info so if you want to continue at the end of that free period you would have to enter it. Yes you can still post! Be kind of mean to make someone pay that much just for forum access, lol. Check this out: http://www.golflink.com/faq.aspx There you will find a full explanation of what you are paying for if you go ahead with a renewal.

I figured the discussions slowed down because of the change of seasons. Many are forced to hibernate thier clubs for the winter.

I'm here but i must say i almost never check the "Site Comments and feedback" section. However, i too was disappointed with the slowdown and in my quest for knowledge stumbled across another site where i've already gleaned TONS of more information! No offense golflink, you have one of the nicest looking sites around but your $50 fee has completely backfired. People think they have to pay just to post on forums. People don't even bother to follow through with the free trial because they know they won't remember to cancel and they will get charged the $50 in 2 weeks time anyways. I was one of the few who joined and got a full year which I believe just expired. when i first started out, the tips and info were great, but $50 a year??? I could get subscriptions to 4 golf magazines where most of those tips come from for that price. I guess they think the average affluent golfer with a club membership wouldn't sweat $50. but the fact is the average golfer with a club membership can afford lessons from pro's. This site needs to cater to average joes and should be priced much closer to 20 bucks for the year.
