Do drivers loose their temper or strength?

I had an Alpha Revision custom made 5-6 years ago and it seems like I don't have the distance I had even a year ago. Do the heads loose their temper or hardness? I don't think it's me but you never know. How many rounds or years will a good driver last?

i would think the harder you swing the more this is likely to happen. I've heard that John Daly goes through as many as 3 drivers a month from breaking the heads. Don't know if it's true but I could see it happening
