My beef with the golf channel is that they just don't show enough golf. I don't even care if it's the black and white classics. The WGC-CA tee times began yesterday at 10:45 a.m. and they didn't pick up the coverage until 2 p.m. I understand paying the bills but come on.

Not enough LPGA coverage (not any, really).

The Golf Channel is about 80% fluff and 20% worth watching. It's that 20% that keeps viewers coming back . I have to believe that advertising revenue would be enhanced with one minute commercials running in the middle of the old Shell's Wonderful World of Golf or classic tournament coverage. Who wouldn't want to watch Nicklaus and Watson Open finishes. The infomercials are just getting old and they offer mostly second rate crap for suckers anyway. Never seen anything on the golf channel infomercials that a well informed golfer would buy. Until the suckers wake up the infomercial will be around.

Golf might be the only sport that wouldn't mind watching compete (i suppose tennis is up there too) I say this because in golf the distance that the LPGA and seniors play are usually 6500-6700 yards which are distances that most of us play and can relate too. Watching the women play I feel like I can get a more realistic comparison to my own golf game (that is if I can swallow my pride and admit that those women are also hitting their 7 iron 150 yards and driving as far as me!)

You could theoretically hold a true U.S. Open on a course like Merion since the course plays at about 6600-6800 yds and has very narrow fairways and extremeely fast sloping greens. Since length is not an issue, a top LPGA pro or Champions Tour pro could win. I said "top" since B. langer beat the 2 last place finishers over 54 holes this week by a total of 37 and 41 strokes repectively Yet TGC just wants to go with the flow..

The reason they do not show any if at all any of the LPGA events is becuase almost no one watches them and if no one watches them then they can not get sponsers and do not make money. But when tiger plays or the PGA tour tons of people watch that.

I've always watched a lot of Golf Channel and while their programming is not the best I enjoy it more than most of the other stuff on TV.

I had this idea last night. I would like to see a caddy show on the Golf Channel. A week in the life kind of thing. Or how they became a caddy or how they got connected with the pro they caddy for. I think they are one of the most under-appreciated aspects of the pro game and I would find this really interesting.

The ladies' tour actually has quite a few viewers now, and I for one agree that watching them play is much better than watching some Chuck Norris infomercial about how you can get the body you've always dreamed of using a machine that you could make yourself for about 12 bucks. Also, I would much prefer to watch the ladies to the Nationwide tour, Champions tour, and the mindless banter about who's going to win the next tournament. You don't know, and no matter how much you talk about it, you're not going to convince me that you do. The ladies are better than most of the guys on both the Nationwide, and the Champions tours, and some of them are pretty easy on the eyes as well. Whoever said that not a lot of people watch their tournaments is sadly mistaken. They obviously do not get the attention that Tiger gets because he is the best player ever to play the game, period. But we have a ladies major, right down the road from my house (McDonald's LPGA Championship) and there are huge crowds of people who go every year, myself included, just to watch these ladies bomb the ball and make birdies on some of the toughest holes in the country.

Amen. I'm so sick of Masters Week and glad the action finally starts today. To me, the Masters is the greatest tournament, on maybe the greatest courses in the world,(sorry British Open fans, I hate links golf), but enough is enough.

One almost has to feel sorry for the people responsible for filling the time, and it amazes me how much pointless speculation they can come up with. Spare me the "buzz" and show me the action.

i'd bang natalie gulbis. I'd bang alot of them for that matter.

I respect their games too! I always play the blue tees on my course because they are 6600 yards which is what most of the ladies tourneys play. I wish natalie would bring her skycaddie and come give me alesson!
