kids free intro,
donate clubs,
return from carpal tunnel to golf,
stack and tiltWell the journey is rough, but the results are great, I have lots of sore muscles and tendons and everything else.
The hands have been coming along pretty good, having to take aleves to deal with the pain and tightness, recovering from a couple of carpal tunnel precedures is taking a little time and extra preparation.
The game overall is coming along fine, the short game is really coming along, I just seem to be able to see the line on putts, visualize them very well. Maybe due to many years doing construction and plumbing and having a very good idea for level and elevations. Hope it stays that way!! Chipping and sand is coming along well due to much more practice and excelerating thru the ball on all shots. Yes the shots are much more accurate with a acelarating blow then a decelerating one. Everyday I pickup pointers and ideas for more productive practice and better play from this site and it has deffinately helped my return to the game.
I still do not hit it as far as I would like, but lets be real , nobody ever does!
I gave a nice kid 13 (Derrick) a lesson at the range the other day, what a pleasure to see him get it and hit the ball much better, than when he started his session.. Reminded me of coaching little league football in the past and the fulfillment it gave me to shape our youth, and see them grow and improve.
The driving range owner watched the lesson and commited on how much I seemed to enjoy it and the kid stayed focused also, that impressed him. We talked about doing free junior clinics a couple of times a month for different age groups and introduce them to golf at the proper place a range to learn.
Anyone have any old kids clubs or sets that could be cut down they want to donate,
please contact me, they will be used at the Pin Hi target range near Tryon Nc, to start youth golfers on the path to fun golf, find real talent and see them blossom, and be a part of it would be real special.
Thanks, Spike

stack and tilt,
return from surgery,
light pressure release wristHi , Just started back after 6 years off and 2 carpal tunnel surgeries. Have been to the driving range quite a few times getting me back in the groove. Played about 8 rounds and the scores have been getting better every time out, broke 100 last week for the first time since stating back and friday shot a 86 to break 90 and meet my goals.
I hope to be back in the 70's in a few weeks, where i was when i had to stop due to medical conditions and work schedules.
I have taken on the stack and tilt swing and have had great success with it, I was using a overly strong grip and way to much grip pressure, now I have a swing I can repete and feel comfortable with. The miss hits are not near as bad or frequent, and I think that is due to keeping weight more on the front foot and not swaying in the backswing.
Still a learning process, but think it will payoff in consistancy and yardage.
Later Spike
Anyone in upstate SC or Western NC looking for someone to play with give me a shout.
