Callaway Golf Mens RH Big Bertha Fairway Woods 7 Wood (22 Degrees) Uniflex Flex
The Callaway Big Bertha 7 wood (mens RH), with a Uniflex steel shaft and 22 degrees of loft, is a premium fairway wood and the predecessor of the current wood in the Big Bertha Diablo Series. It is still known for its reliability as a utility club and safe alternative to long irons. The 7 wood is still available and used by professionals and amateurs.

Uniflex Shaft

Made especially for Callaway, the Big Bertha 7 wood's Big Bertha Uniflex (Callaway Big Bertha Steel) is manufactured by Nippon. It comes standard with a 41.5-inch length and D4 swing weight. The shaft is designed with a low kick point for high-lofted woods, which help launch shots quickly

Club Head Information

The Callaway Big Bertha 7 wood boasts a stainless steel head with true perimeter-weighting. The modified version of the company's signature S2H2 bore-through hosel designs helps evenly distribute weight and create a forgiving face and square head at impact. The 7 wood, like others in the line, features a slightly larger head and aerodynamic sole, made to reduce drag through each shot.

Face Notes

Unlike traditional low-profile woods, the Callaway Big Bertha 7 wood has a longer face from heel-to-toe. Championing the company's special VFT (Variable Face Technology) design, the face contains various levels of thickness to help propel the ball swiftly, even on mis-hits.

Potential

Among the four clubs in the Big Bertha series (3, 5, 7 and 9 wood), the 7 wood is an especially strong performer. The club's leading edge pinches nicely from the fairway and pops shots out of the rough with ease. The head-shaft relationship is a solid one, allowing for shot shaping and the ability to get good distance out of more controlled swings. With soft feel at impact, the Big Bertha 7 wood is a good-to-exceptional utility wood or long-iron replacement.

Availability and Price

While the Big Bertha 7 wood, stocked with a Uniflex steel shaft, has been replaced, several retailers still carry the model. Most dealers were selling the popular wood for about $140 (as of October 2009). Used the clubs fall into the $100 or less range, depending on their condition.
