Holiday Inn Hotel & Suites Chicago-Carol Stream Illinois
The Holiday Inn Hotel & Suites Chicago-Carol Stream is in the Illinois village of Carol Stream, about four miles west of Interstate 355 and is 25 miles from downtown Chicago. The location is ideal for golfers staying in the region because of the hotel's proximity to golf courses and other amenities.

Golf

The nearest golf course to the hotel is the Glendale Lakes Golf Course in Glendale Heights, which is less than three miles away. It is an 18-hole, par-71 course that was designed by Richard P. Nugent. The Cantigny Golf Course has 27 holes and is about six miles away. Each of its three 9-hole layouts is par 36. Cantigny is a championship course that was designed by Roger Packard and was the host for the 2007 U.S. Amateur Public Links championship.

Rooms

The rooms at the hotel include free wi-fi Internet access, a mini-refrigerator and pillow-top mattresses. They also come with color televisions with premium cable and pay-per-view movie channels. There are two phones in each room with two lines for each phone. Each room also has a work desk. The rooms have air conditioning. Rooms with sofa beds, connecting rooms and kitchenettes with microwave ovens, silverware, plates, glassware, pots and pans and serving dishes are also available.

Amenities

The hotel has a large indoor swimming pool and a whirlpool. It has a fitness center that is open 5:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily. The hotel also has a business center that is staffed from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily where you can get copies made, fax documents, or connect to the Internet. PCs with printers are also available as well as a secretarial service. There is a self-laundry center that is open 24 hours a day.

Dining

Alberto's Italian Restaurant offers a breakfast buffet with an omelette station and a pasta bar for lunch. Alberto's has nightly specials for dinner and children eat free, as of 2009. It is open at 6 a.m. Monday through Friday and at 7 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday. It closes at 10 p.m. each day. Fitzgerald's Tavern is the hotel's dedicated lounge. Fitzgerald's has televisions for sporting events and occasionally features live music. It is open 10 a.m. to midnight every day. Room service also is available from 6:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. each day.

Local Entertainment

The Metra-Wheaton train station is less than three miles from the site and goes to downtown Chicago. If you want to stay near the hotel, you can take a complimentary shuttle and go to the Cantigny War Museum or the Billy Graham Center Museum. You could also see events at the Center Ice Arena. There are tennis courts and shopping malls nearby. The shuttle serves an area within five miles from the hotel.
