Features
A golf cart seat cover wraps around the seat of a cart and makes the seat easy to sit on. Most seats are vinyl and many newer covers are ergonomically designed with contours. There are various types of golf seat covers for the most popular models used on golf courses -- such as E-Z-GO, Club Cart and Yamaha -- and previous types of covers are also available as replacement parts for older-model golf carts. The covers are generally waterproof and come in either tan or white; however, those can be interchangeable with any color, especially if you are building your own personalized cart.
The covers aren't just limited to seats because covers are also for the back supports on a cart. Those come with the same features as the seat, but come with different contours to support the back.
Benefits
A golf cart seat cover will generally come when the golf cart is purchased, since it is such a final piece of the equipment. It will make the seat comfortable to sit on, actually completing the seat since it covers the foam padding that makes up the seat. The vinyl material also makes cleaning it very easy, as well as making it easy to dry when it gets wet.
Size
A typical golf cart seat is 4-5 feet in length, while the cover weighs about three pounds. The back seats are the same length and weigh about the same, but are thinner in width than the seats. The various golf cart lines will have their logos on the seat covers available for purchase.
Considerations
If you are a golf cart attendant or maintenance employee at a golf course, a good idea would be to have spare golf cart seat covers around to replace ones that deteriorate to the point beyond repair or for ones that get damaged.
Prevention/Solution
Golf cart seat covers can wear down over time and deteriorate to the point where there are holes and other damage. There are a variety of products that can help with the upkeep of the seats, such as vinyl cleaners and protectants. These can extend the life of the covers and make the carts more attractive to patrons.
