Golf Opportunities
Although Walt Disney World has five golf courses within its resort property, Disneyland has none. However, this does not mean that a person visiting Disneyland cannot golf. There are several golf courses and golf shops in the area around Disneyland. One of the closest golf courses to Disneyland is the Coyote Hills Golf Course, which is about seven miles from Disneyland. This is the only course in Southern California to receive Golf Digest's Top Service Award. Another nearby golf course is in Yorba Linda. The Black Gold Golf Course is about 10 miles from Disneyland.
Weather
The hottest time of the year to visit Disneyland is in July and August, when the average high temperature is hotter than 80 degrees per day. On the other hand, the coolest month to visit is January, during which the average high temperature is slightly above 65 degrees. However, if you are hoping to avoid rainfall, you will not want to visit Disneyland in January or February. These are the two months that Disneyland sees the most rain. If you want to avoid rain, visit in July, when rain is almost non-existent.
Attendance
While it is hard to ever find Disneyland not busy, there are definitely some days that are worse for visiting the park if you want to avoid crowds. The three busiest days of the year at Disneyland are New Year's Day, Independence Day and Christmas Day. There are around 70,000 visitors in the park on these days. The shortest lines in the park can be found in the period between the Thanksgiving weekend and the week of Christmas. Only about 10,000 people per day visit the park at this time. Visiting on these days could allow you to get through lines more quickly and leave you some time to play a round of golf.
Features
A few years ago, Disney introduced the Fast Pass, which allows guests at the park to get a ticket to return to a ride at a later time in the day. When guests return, they can move to the front of the line. Not all rides offer the Fast Pass. Some of the most popular rides that do include Splash Mountain, Space Mountain, Buzz Lightyear's Astro Blasters, Autopia and Indiana Jones.
Accommodations
Disney has only three hotels at the Disneyland Resort. Disney World, on the other hand, has more than 20. However, Disneyland has deals with area hotels that are called "Good Neighbor Hotels." Tourists can book rooms and buy ticket packages for discounted rates when they book with one of the Good Neighbor Hotels. If you don't mind staying several miles from the park, you could book a room at a golf resort such as the Pala Mesa Resort, although it is not a Good Neighbor Hotel.
