Gel
The Gel Fusion utilizes a visco-elastic gel in the collar of the shoe that, among other things, transfers heat away in an effort to keep your feet cool and sweat-free. This same technology is incorporated into the foot bed and effectively keeps the bottom of the shoe cool while you play your game.
Uppers
The uppers of the Gel Fusion II are made of a significantly softer material than previous FootJoy shoes. Called "extreme comfort leather," it carries the company's standard two-year waterproof warranty.
Soles
The midsole is made of EVA that makes the shoe very lightweight and cushions every step. The outer soles feature what FootJoy calls "flexibility channels," optimizing the flexibility of what is often the hardest part of a shoe. A stability bridge is built into the shank of the shoe, providing all the midfoot support needed.
Spikes
This FootJoy shoe uses the Fast Twist System for soft spikes that make replacing and changing spikes very easy. This is one of the most popular formats for spikes today.
Style
The Gel Fusion II is available in a variety of colors including brown and black, black, black and white, brown and white and all white.
Price
Originally available for about $100, since the Gel Fusion II was discontinued by FootJoy, this shoe can be found in shops and at online retailers for a real bargain price of between $60 and $80.
