Golf Gear
Weight limitations are not part of the airline rules in Canada, but are restricted by the airlines. Most limitations are set from 40 to 50 pounds and include both carry-on and checked baggage. Most sporting equipment, including golf clubs, bags, balls and tees, cannot be carried onto the airplane and must be sent as cargo or checked luggage. Most often golf equipment must be in a hard-shell container to be shipped via airline.
Liquids
You are allowed one clear plastic bag per person. These can be up to only quart-sized bags and must be checked by airport security. You are also allowed bottles which hold up to 3.4 ounces of liquid. All of the bottles must fit into the plastic bag to pass through security. Anything which does not fit must be discarded before you pass through the security area. Flammable liquids and chemicals are not allowed. Exceptions to the liquids rule allows some medications, baby formula, juice, baby food and breast milk for children 2 and younger.
Food
Solid foods are permitted in both checked luggage and carry-on baggage. Liquid food, such as yogurt, pudding or spreads, must be in containers no larger than 3.4 ounces and presented to security as part of the carry-on baggage. Any larger containers with solid foods must be in checked baggage.
Carry-on Bags
Airport luggage rules in Canada have no limitation for the number of bags allowed as carry-on baggage. This limitation is up to the individual airlines. Most airlines have a limit of two hand-carried bags, or one bag and one laptop or purse.
Be Ready
When you get to the airport, have each bag marked with an external identification tag. Use the ticket information on the tag as an easy way to cross-check with the passenger list at security. Keep gifts unwrapped for screening before boarding. Don't bring sharp objects or tools; these will be taken.
