The Hotel
The MGM Grand includes thousands of various-styled hotel rooms. Standard rooms are available in the Grand Tower and West Wing, which feature king or queen beds and high-speed Internet access. The hotel also offers nine types of suites for golfers looking for a little more luxury. Bungalow Suites offer a king or queen bed and an extended living room, while the Terrace Suites offer two stories, vaulted ceilings and 786-square-foot outdoor patios. The poshest accommodations are in the Skylofts Penthouse Suites, which range from 1,1440 to 6,000 square feet and offer 24-hour butler and concierge service.
Dining Options
The MGM Grand offers a number of dining options, from fine dining, to casual dining, to cafes and other restaurants where food is ready fast, to the Grand Buffet, which is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. One of the fine dining restaurants is Wolfgang Puck, which serves a "unique interpretation of California cuisine prepared with a new spirit," according to the MGM Grand website. One of the signature dishes is a flat iron steak with peppercorn sauce and blue cheese butter. Those who want a more casual dining experience can go to Emeril's, which serves a blend of Creole and Cajun specialties, such as New Orleans barbecue shrimp. For quick food at any time of day, there's Starbucks, Stage Deli, Rainforest Cafe and more.
Casinos
The casinos are a big draw in Las Vegas, and it's no different at the MGM Grand. The casino includes a variety of table games like blackjack, craps, baccarat and poker. The casino's thousands of slot and video poker machines range from $0.01 to $1,000. Its most popular progressive slot machines pay out more than $750,000 every day. Those who want to bet on races or games can do so at the Race and Sports Book, a 5,300-square-foot facility that includes 36 plasma televisions that are 60 inches apiece, and 24 plasma televisions that are 42 inches.
Amenities
For those golfers who want to relax or work out before or after their round of golf, the MGM Grand includes a spa as well as a fitness center with cardiovascular and weight equipment, and a steam room, saunas and whirlpools. Just want to relax by the pool? The Grand Pool Complex includes five swimming pools and three whirlpools. Foliage, bridges, fountains and waterfalls surround the pool complex.
Entertainment
The MGM Grand offers a wide variety of entertainment options, from Cirque du Soleil, a theatrical event that tells the story of a set of twins, to the Grand Garden Arena, which can seat as many as 16,800 guests for events like concerts, boxing, and sporting and special events. The Hollywood Theatre, which includes 740 seats, is a more intimate setting for magic shows, music and more.
