Golf Courses
The top golf courses in the Bahamas can be found on the Grand Bahama Island. The Lucayan as well as the Reef Course are both located here, and both are championship-caliber courses. This is not to say that there are not other islands that have nice golf courses. Nassau and Abaco also feature beautiful options. If you are looking for an interesting challenge, you may want to try the Paradise Island Golf Course, which includes the world's largest sand trap.
Accommodations
Fortunately for golfers, there are several hotels in the Bahamas that feature their own courses. The Radisson Cable Beach Resort & Golf Club, The One and Only Ocean Club Golf Course and Our Lucaya Beach & Golf Resort have golf courses as part of the resort. However, even if you stay in a hotel that does not have its own course, many hotels on the islands offer golf packages, which include shuttle service to and from the golf course at which you will be playing.
Dining
Although the Bahamas are not well known for their cuisine the way that France or even some island nations in the Pacific are, this does not mean that you cannot eat well while vacationing there. Many of the hotels that include golf courses also include restaurants. If you want to get away from the resort for dinner after a day on the links, The Ferry House Restaurant is a nice choice for French cuisine that is near the Lucaya Resort on Grand Bahama Island. There are also several American fast food restaurants available on the islands if you are looking for some more familiar food.
Attractions
The natural beauty that is evident on the golf courses is evident throughout the Bahamas. You can see a part of islands that few others see if you take part in Hartley's Undersea Walk. Participants are given heavy masks that weigh them down to the ocean floor, which is about 10 feet down. Oxygen is pumped into the masks and participants are allowed to pet tropical fish and see things that are brand new to them. If you'd rather stay closer to the surface, horseback riding, hiking and snorkeling are all popular things to do in nature in the Bahamas.
Weather
One of the nice things about traveling to the Bahamas is that the weather is always nice. There is only a 10-degree difference between the hottest season and the coolest, so travel can be enjoyed year-round.
