Personal Information
Warren was born June 21, 1975 in Columbia, South Carolina. He stands 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighs 160 pounds. From 1995 to 1998, he attended college at Clemson University, for whom he was playing when he won the NCAA Division I Golf Championship in 1997. He is the only Clemson golfer to win that tournament; he finished second in it in 1998. Warren graduated from Clemson with a degree in marketing.
Professional Career
After turning professional in 1998, Warren played on the Nationwide Tour. He competed on the PGA Tour in 1999, then dropped back to the Nationwide Tour, where he played from 2000 to 2004. He has participated on the PGA Tour since 2005.
Victories
Warren has three wins to his credit from the Nationwide Tour as of August 2009, as well as one amateur victory. His first professional victory was in 2002, when he claimed the BMW Charity Pro-Am at The Cliffs. He was victorious twice in 2004, when he won the Samsung Canadian PGA Championship (19-under par) and the Cox Classic (21-under par) in consecutive weeks. Those were his two lowest stroke totals of the season, and his efforts led to a payout for the two events of $189,000.
Major Championships
Throughout his career to date, Warren has competed in two of golf's major championships. The first time was in 2000, when he played in the U.S. Open. At that event, he finished in a tie for 37th place. His second major championship experience was in 2006, when he played the PGA Championship and finished tied for the 62nd position.
College Career
Warren had a successful college golf career. In 1998, he was honored with the Dave Williams Award, given to the best senior golfer in the nation. Warren won the ACC Championship in 1997 and 1998, and is the only ACC golfer to win the ACC and NCAA championships in the same year. He was a three-time All-ACC performer, as well as a three-time All-American. In 2005, Warren was inducted into the Clemson Athletic Hall of Fame.
