Japan Tour
Kyung-Tae currently is ranked 33rd on the Japan Golf Tour money list. His best finish so far in 2009 was a tie for seventh place at the Japan PGA Championship in June. He shot a 1-under-par 279. He has no victories on the Japan Tour. The closest he came was a second place at the Tsuruya Open in April 2008. He shot an 11-under 273 to lose by one shot.
Asian Tour
Kyung-Tae has one career victory on the Asian Tour. It came at the GS Caltex Maekyung Open in Korea in 2007. The closest he came to a second victory on the Asian Tour came that same year in the Kolon-Hana Bank Korea Open, where he finished tied for second place. Kyung-Tae Kim finished 2008 ranked 36th in the order of merit for the tour. His best finish so far in 2009 was a tie for 13th place in the GS Caltex Maekyung Open in May.
Statistics
Through Aug. 9, 2009, Kyung-Tae was averaging 70.79 strokes per round on the Japan Golf Tour and 71.63 on the Asian Tour. He had been making 64.48 percent of greens in regulation on the Japan Golf Tour and 67.96 in the Asian Tour. He was ranked 345th in the World Golf Ranking.
Other Professional Highlights
Kyung-Tae made his professional debut at the Johnnie Walker Classic in Phuket, Thailand, in March 2007. He followed a month later with his first professional victory at the SBS Tomatobank Open, a tournament on the Korean Tour.
Amateur Career
The highlights of Kyung-Tae's amateur career came in a banner 2006 year, as he claimed victories in the SBS Samsung Benest Open and the Pocari Enerzen Open, both professional tournaments in Korea. He also won the Japan Amateur and the Korean Amateur.
