Japan Golf Tour Victory
Kai's victory on the Japan Golf Tour was at the Vana H Cup KBC Augusta in August of 2008. During the tournament, he shot 10-under par. He was tied for fifth place at the end of the first day and tied for second after the second day. He moved into first place during the third round and maintained that position to emerge victorious.
PGA Performance
During the British Open Championship in 2008, Kai carded rounds of 80 and 81 and missed the tournament cut. His scores improved during PGA tournaments in 2009, but he failed to make the cut in the two tournaments in which he played. He shot a 143 during the first two days of the Sony Open in Hawaii, and a 157 at the U.S. Open Championship.

Kai has cracked the top 100 of the Official World Golf Ranking during his career. But he has dropped from that position and as of early August 2009 he was ranked 153rd.
Personal bests
Kai's performances in PGA Tour events have been uneven, but he has shot some low scores during Japan Golf Tour Play. During one round of the KBC Augusta in 2007, he shot a 64. During the same tournament, he carded nine birdies in one round, a feat he has accomplished twice.
