Kuboya was born March 11, 1972, in Kanagawa, Japan. He attended college at Meiji University in Tokyo. Kuboya stands 5 feet, 9 inches tall and weighs 150 pounds.
Tournament Victories
Kuboya has prevailed in four tournaments during his career: the Daikyo Open and Fujisankei Classic in 1997, and the Munsingwear Open KSB Cup and Japan PGA Championship in 2002. All four tournaments are part of the Japan Golf Tour.
Major Championships
Kuboya has played in two major championships during his career. His first was at the British Open Championship in 2002, where he made the cut but was not a factor during the final rounds. His second major championship was in 2009, when he finished tied for 27th place at the British Open Championship. During that tournament, he fired a 65 during the first round, was the leader during the second day and won nearly $48,000.
