The Lancaster County area, also known as Pennsylvania Dutch Country, provides a relaxing, slower-paced family vacation. Not only is it educational, introducing visitors to another way of life, but it is also entertaining. In addition to Amish communities and shopping at outlets there is a variety of golf courses, adventure parks and miniature golf centers to please young and old.

Adventure Sports

Adventure Sports in Hershey is a family fun center that offers miniature golf, bumper boats with squirt guns, go karts, a batting range, a golf driving range, an arcade and a snack bar. Picnic facilities are also available. The park is open from April 1 through Memorial Day with a limited schedule; from Memorial Day to Labor Day 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., and then after Labor Day until late October with a limited schedule. Admission is per attraction.

Boulders Miniature Golf

Located in Mountville, Boulders Miniature Golf provides family fun and entertainment. This 18-hole miniature golf course includes some wheelchair-accessible holes. The whole family will appreciate that Boulders is next to Scoops Ice Cream & Grille. Boulders is open from May through October, closed November through April. Admission prices as of the 2009-2010 season are: For ages 12 to 64, $5.50; ages 65 and over, $5; children, 6 to 12, $5; and under 6, free.

Heritage Hills Golf Resort

Heritage Hills Golf Resort in York caters to golfers of all levels. This 18-hole championship course, designed by Russell Roberts, combines aspects of both traditional style courses and link style courses. Golfers will enjoy the rolling course with a winding brook, beautiful flower beds and relaxing ponds. This golf course is also home to the PA State Interscholastic Championships. Two on-site restaurants, Ironwoods and Knickers Pub, that provide plenty to eat and drink after an enjoyable day on the curse. Accommodations are also available here, with packages starting at $90 per person which includes one night's lodging, one round of golf and breakfast.

High Sports, Inc.

Located in Lititz, High Sports, Inc. offers visitors a challenging 20-hole miniature golf course situated around waterfalls overlooking beautiful Amish farmland. Also at High Sports is a self-serve driving range including lights, batting cages, a snack bar and a 940-foot serpentine go-cart track. Picnic facilities are available. High Sports is open from April through October. Hours and prices can be obtained by calling High Sports.

Tree Top Golf Course

Tree Top Golf Course is a 4,651-yard 18-hole course nestled in the rolling terrain of Manheim. This country setting is perfect for a novice golfer, an accomplished golfer or the entire family. Night golfing is also available. There is a pro shop and snack bar on site. The course is open all year. Call to schedule a tee time and for rates.

Willow Valley Golf Resort

On the outskirts of the city of Lancaster, Willow Valley offers a challenging nine-hole executive golf course with watered fairways. Also on site is a putting green, a pro shop and a restaurant adjacent. Lodging is offered in the resort next door as well. Rounds of golf start for as little as $12.
