Just played Linden Hall yesterday. The course has come a long way over the last 3 years. It is under a new course manager, and he is doing a great job of getting the course back in shape. The condition of the course yesterday was excellent. Not a country club, but easily one of your better public courses. And you can't beat the price.

My dad and I went to Linden Hall mainly for the US Steel discount. My dad has been there in the past for the fishing and he described it as a well kept place for steel workers to fish and golf at leisure. NOT ANYMORE. The staff were pretty nice. From the beginning, I saw this place has been let go. The rough wasn't anything better than a below average lawn. Fairway was even worse as my first drive landed right in the middle of the fairway...in mud. As we went on, I thought the greens were the only nice thing about it. That was until the back nine where it seemed every green was burned out with sand filling most holes. The sad thing is the layout is actually pretty nice and the views of the surrounding hills are actually incredible. The bunkers are the only thing worth mentioning as being excellent. If you block out the rest of the course, you'd think you were at Pebble Beach. Bugs are a HUGE problem as well, however this is probably from all the rain we recently received which have created swamps. Overall it is a nice discount but I didn't think it made up for the poorly maintained course.

Played this course two weeks ago. Right now the front nine is closed for repairs and if it was anything compared to the back nine I can see why. The course doesn't appear to be mowed regularly as anything but the fairway was grass up to my knees. I may try this course again for the front nine but I don't expect much. 15.00 for nine and cart, big long course.

This course used to be realy nice but when i played there last time it was the worst course i have ever seen. Almost every green was dead. I was putting on mud for most of the holes. The fairways were burnt out so the length that this course doesn't even matter cause my drives never stoped going cause there was no grass. It was so bad that they lady that was working didn't even charge me for the course they just charged me 20 for the cart. I am never going back to this course till someone tells me it is doing better.

well if you like to play on burned out golf courses and get eaten alive by gnats, this is the place for you. The layout is INCREDIBLE, but the condition and the bugs, NEVER AGAIN
